Runner Duck Sangiovese 2014 Matakana
From our small block of 20 plus year old Sangiovese vines based on the restaurant plot. A dark purple tinged wine showing classic varietal traits of bright red and black fruits, cedar, cinnamon, and five spice. A palate bursting with wild berry flavours and fine grained tannins wrapped around a classic Sangiovese brightness. Supple and vibrant food wine that will compliment and highlight, a variety of classic dishes.
Runner Duck Black Velvet 2010 Matakana
This wine is made from the traditional and classic French varietals of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This unique blend is from an excellent once in many years vintage and is full bodied with a dense garnet colour and lifted dark red fruits, black plum and brambles, cedar and cigar box on the nose. A powerful wine, juicy ripe fruit, finely honed tannins, harmonious with an excellent length and balance on the palette. Great to drink at any time especially so with wild game, fish dishes and spiced meats.
Runner Duck Passion 2013 Matakana
2013 was an even more exceptional year for viticulture! Our full bodied deep ruby red Syrah has vibrant earthy notes while displaying the characteristics of black spice and pepper and aromas of dark red juicy fruit, cassis, blackberry, violets and black olives. Sliky tannis, excellent depth, lingering finish.
The Knight 2011 Matakana
This wine is made from the traditional and classic French varietals of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This hand tended hand-picked blend is a medium heavy weighted wine with a ruby hue in colour and lifted violet notes of bramble and dark fruit on the nose. Its distinctive character is soft and mouth filling on first taste, generous in fruit with layers of underlying complexity, toast quality oak supple integrated acid and has a focused lingering finish. Great to drink at any time with wild game, fish dishes and spiced meats.
Plume Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Marlborough
PLUME HOUSE WINE: SAUVIGNON BLANC 2015 (Wairau Valley, Marlborough). Bursting with passion fruit, black currant, grapefruit and lemongrass aromas, this wine is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine drives across the palate with a refreshing vibrancy of tropical fruits, gooseberry and lemon citrus flavours. The beautiful fragrance of this wine will compliment all sea food!
Runner Duck Syrah 2012 Matakana
The Syrah 2012 is a deep dark red, purple tinged wine that shows lifted sweet fruit, with classic syrah notes of black pepper and spice on the nose. The palate is supple and poised with fine grained tannins, blueberry and mocha notes that lead to a juicy lingering finish. This wine is a classic match for red meat dishes particularly those of a more gamey nature.
Runner Duck Pinot Gris 2015 Matakana
Runner Duck Pinot Gris 2015 – A luscious and inviting wine with aromas of baked pear, ginger, cinnamon and guava. The icy, fleshy palate highlights its bountiful array of tropical fruit flavours. The sweetness of the fruit dances wonderfully with Asian spice and heat whereas the freshness sings alongside European herbs and sauces
Runner Duck Rose 2015 Matakana
Rose 2015 – This vibrantly pink rose is predominantly Syrah based with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. Aromatically the wine is flush with bright red fruits, raspberry and strawberry in particular – yet it carries subtle notes of thyme and oregano that add layers of complexity to the fruit appeal. A silken textured wine that easily compliments many foods, it perhaps sits best with friends enjoying the sunshine on a long, lazy, summer afternoon.
