The 1st of December saw the announcement of the 2016 Beef and Lamb Excellence Awards, with over 170 restaurants across New Zealand receiving the accolade, including yours truly – Plume Restaurant, Matakana.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Awards which acknowledges chefs and restaurants who consistently reach a high standard of beef and lamb cuisine. The Excellence Awards, established in 1997 from an idea presented to Beef + Lamb New Zealand by an advisory panel of chefs, are the nation’s longest running culinary awards held in high regard by those in the food service industry.
Plume received the gold rimmed plate recognising our outstanding beef and lamb cookery and expertise in the kitchen. This all on the back of our finalist award for the magnificent Silver Ferns Beef Eye Fillet which has been introduced on the new menu from Head Chef Atesh.
